Farm Credit East announced that the Farm Credit East Cares Community Fund is donating $56,000 to various charitable organizations throughout the Northeast. Organizations include agricultural and youth development, veteran assistance, food banks, charitable health and research organizations and various other not-for-profits.

“We are pleased to be able to provide this support to our local communities and those in need,” said Bill Lipinski, CEO of Farm Credit East. “Employees initiated Farm Credit East Cares four years ago to give back to the farmers and rural communities we serve. We hope these donations help the recipient organizations continue their good work.”

In excess of $25,000 was raised through the contributions of Farm Credit East employees across the organization’s 21 branch offices. With strong support from the Board of Directors, Farm Credit East matched all employee contributions, to total $56,000 to be donated to various organizations.

More than 50 organizations are receiving donations this year. Recipients include food banks and hunger relief efforts; youth programs, such as 4H and Future Farmers of America (FFA); educational institutions and agricultural education programs; veteran assistance programs, such as The Mission Continues, Wounded Warrior Project and the Farmer Veteran Coalition; charitable religious organizations; community and health support organizations; and programs to enrich the agriculture community.

“We are fortunate to have an incredibly deep social conscience that runs across our entire family of employees. Farm Credit East Cares allows the Farm Credit East family to work together in supporting important causes that touch both rural and urban communities,” added Lipinski.
