Farm Credit East has announced the results of its recent Director elections and Board reorganization meeting. The Board, comprised primarily of farmers, represents the diversity of Northeast agriculture and the forest products industry.

Farm Credit East, ACA stockholder-customers recently elected four members to its Board of Directors:

• Henry L. Huntington, of Loudon, N.H., was elected to a 4-year term. Henry is president and CEO of Pleasant View Gardens, Inc., a 14-acre wholesale greenhouse operation.
• Daniel J. Corey was re-elected to a 4-year term. Dan owns and oversees Daniel J. Corey Farms, a diversified agricultural business in from Monticello, Maine.
• Laurie K. Griffen was re-elected to a 4-year term. Along with her husband Steve, Laurie co-owns and operates Saratoga Sod Farm, Inc., a 600 acre turfgrass farm in Stillwater, N.Y.
• Peter Call, of Batavia, N.Y., was elected to a 4-year term. Peter is president of My-T Acres, Inc., an 8,500-acre vegetable and grain operation.

In addition, the Board appointed Tim Chan, of Claremont, NH, to serve as an outside director. Tim was the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc., North America’s leading producer of canned and bottled juices and juice drinks.

At the April 29 reorganization meeting, the Board re-elected Andrew Gilbert, Potsdam, N.Y., as its chair and Matthew Beaton, Wareham, Mass., as vice chair. In addition to Chairman Gilbert and Vice Chairman Beaton, the five-member Executive Committee includes Daniel Corey, Monticello, Maine; Richard Janiga, East Aurora, N.Y.; and Laurie Griffen, Stillwater, N.Y.

The full Farm Credit East Board includes 14 stockholder-elected directors and three appointed directors who bring additional skills and capabilities to the boardroom. In addition to those recently elected and appointed to the Board and those elected to leadership and Executive Committee positions, the Board includes: Michael N. Brooks, Elmer, N.J.; Christine Fesko, Skaneateles, N.Y.; Ann P. Hudson, Suffield, Conn.; Philip Jamie Jones, Shelton, Conn.; John P. Knopf, Canandaigua, N.Y.; Henry E. McPherson, Hermon, Maine; Lisa P. Sellew, Lebanon, Conn.; Douglas W. Shelmidine, Adams, N.Y.; and Donald P. White, Bangor, Maine.
