The first International Birch Sap & Syrup Conference is being held at Paul Smith’s College in the Adirondacks on June 12 to 14.
The registration fee is $150 and includes all events and meals. Lodging can be purchased at Paul Smith’s College or nearby hotels and campgrounds. Registration forms are available here.
Schedule of events:
June 12: Conference kickoff with welcome reception featuring birch-themed dishes and tasting competition of birch syrups from throughout the world.
June 13: Technical sessions on many aspects of birch sap and syrup production from industry leaders; tour of Paul Smith’s College birch and sample sugaring operations; birch BBQ dinner.
June 14: Tour of Cornell University’s Uihlein Forest birch and maple sugaring operations; additional technical sessions and workshops on birch management and ecology.
June 15: Optional tour of sugaring equipment manufacturers in northern Vermont.
