All sheep and lamb inventory in the Northeastern U.S. on January 1, 2015 totaled 209,000 head, down 4,000 head from last year, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service.

Pennsylvania had the biggest amount of sheep and lamb with 86,000, followed by New York with 80,000 and New England region with 43,000.

Breeding sheep and lamb inventory came in at 133,000 head, down 4,000 from last year and rams came in at 10,000 head, equal to last year.
