The March 25 “Protecting Your Profits” conference call will start at noon and provide an overview on the current dairy industry trends and markets. Alan Zepp, risk management program manager for the Center for Dairy Excellence, who authors the Markets and Management Update, published in Farmshine, will host the call.
In spite of the recent milk price tumble, expected margins for the second half of 2015 are still $1.00 above the most recent three year average of actual margin. Production is climbing while exports are falling, however, next fall’s futures markets are $2.00 higher than today.
Zepp will provide a snapshot of today’s dairy fundamentals and point out some possible price opportunities during the call.
