The 52nd All-American Dairy Show is slated for September 12-17 and the multi-day event will take place at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg.

This year’s show schedule has been adjusted from past years. The Pennsylvania All-American Jersey Show at Harrisburg will begin at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15, starting with calves, heifers and dry cows. The Jersey cow classes will be placed on Wednesday, September 16, at 8 a.m. The All-American Brown Swiss show will begin at 1 p.m. on Wednesday with all young stock and dry cows. The Brown Swiss milking cow classes will be evaluated at 9 a.m. on Thursday, September 17.

Two new members join the PA Dairy & Allied Industries Association, the governing board of the All-American Dairy Show: Allen Hess of Smithsburg, Md., and Bryant Hlavaty of Lititz, Lancaster County.

An active Milking Shorthorn breeder and an officer of the Mid-Atlantic Milking Shorthorn Society, Hess will be serving on the board as the Milking Shorthorn representative. He works as a housing specialist for a nonprofit agency. For more than 10 years, Hess has been a class sponsor and exhibitor at the All-American Dairy Show.

Longtime All-American exhibitor Hlavaty will represent the allied industries as a member of the board. He is currently a nutritionist for Cargill, one of the premier sponsors of the All-American Dairy Show. It is a top priority for Hlavaty for the show to remain a continued success.

Also new this year, a wine and cheese reception sponsored by Immucell will take place on Wednesday, September 16, at 5 p.m. in the Dairy Activity Center.

The entry deadline for the 2015 All-American Dairy Show and the Premier National Dairy Junior Show is August 14. Late entries will be accepted through August 28.  All entries will be accepted online.

The All-American Dairy Show features 22 shows in six days in addition to the nation’s only all-dairy antiques show. Last year’s show featured nearly 3,000 animals and 1,500 exhibitors from around the country.
