Cornell Small Farms Program Offers Partial Scholarships
The Cornell Small Farms Program is offering partial scholarships for military veterans to take their online courses as part of the “Farm Ops” initiative. Several of the courses offered are taught by local Cornell Cooperative Extension educators. The courses will be offered to veterans for $125 each, normally $250. To be eligible, a person must be active or retired military, a resident of New York State and have plans to begin selling farm products (filing a Schedule F) in 2016 or 2017.
Dairy Financial and Risk Management Conference to Take Place September 21
The deadline to register for the 2017 Dairy Financial and Risk Management Conference is September 21. The conference will be held September 28 from 8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. at the Central Penn Conference Center in Summerdale, Pennsylvania. The cost to attend is $200 per person, including breakfast and lunch. Registration is discounted to $150 for representatives of the center’s Allies for Advancement.
