FarmTek will host a Hydroponic Fodder Workshop on May 15, 2014, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. EST for farmers and growers. The workshop, which is to be held at the FarmTek Technology Center East in South Windsor, Conn., will help attendees learn about controlled environment agriculture (CEA) and how to integrate a hydroponically grown feed into their agriculture business or farm.
During the workshop, attendees will view presentations from FarmTek specialists, industry experts and local farmers with firsthand experience in growing hydroponic fodder. Topics to be covered include how to grow hydroponic fodder, planning for a fodder growing system, controlling the growing environment and more. In addition to networking with other farmers and growers, attendees will also participate in hands-on activities with an actively growing FodderPro Feed System in FarmTek's state-of-the-art CEA facility.
"The Hydroponic Fodder Workshop is a great opportunity for farmers and growers of any experience level to learn about growing year-round with hydroponics and what providing a consistent, fresh green feed can do for their animals," said Kerry King, brand manager for FarmTek.
The cost is $295, which includes the workshop, curriculum workbook and lunch. The $295 fee will be returned to attendees as a product credit. For FarmTek customers who have already purchased a FodderPro Feed System, the Hydroponic Fodder Workshop is free.
