The North American Maple Syrup Council (NAMSC) and the International Maple Syrup Institute (IMSI) will hold their annual general meeting for the first time in the province of New Brunswick. The meetings will be held October 23-25, 2013, at the Delta-Beausejour in Moncton. The NAMSC and IMSI represent the 16 maple-producing Canadian provinces and U.S. states.
This is the first time that the event will take place over three days. Saturday, October 26, will be an optional day, with a tour of the world-famous Hopewell Rocks and the Bay of Fundy coast. The Friday companion tour will visit the Acadian coast.
All NAMSC-IMSI meetings, workshops and technical sessions will be held at the Delta-Beausejour in downtown Moncton. There will also be a silent auction, a regular feature of the annual meeting. All money raised during the auction goes directly into maple research. Over the years, the research has enabled maple producers and others to improve the production, efficiency, quality and sanitation of maple products and the maple industry in general.
