Farm Credit East, ACA stockholder-customers recently elected two members to the board of directors:
. In the eastern region, Lisa P. Sellew was elected to a four-year term. The Sellew family owns Prides Corner Farms, a wholesale nursery in Lebanon, Conn., that has been in business for more than 30 years. Prides Corner grows more than 2,200 varieties of nursery stock, perennials, roses, trees, herbs and vegetables.
. John P. Knopf was elected to a four-year term in the western region. Knopf is the principal owner of Fa-Ba Farms, LLC in Canandaigua, N.Y. Fa-Ba Farms is a dairy business consisting of 500 milking cows, 440 replacements and 850 acres of land devoted to forage production.
In addition, at the April 24 reorganization meeting, the board re-elected Andrew Gilbert, Potsdam, N.Y., as its chair and Matthew Beaton, Wareham, Mass., as vice chair. In addition to Gilbert and Beaton, the executive committee includes Richard Janiga, East Aurora, N.Y., and Henry Huntington, Loudon, N.H.
Farm Credit East is a customer-owned agricultural cooperative and part of the nationwide Farm Credit System, which is celebrating 97 years of service to American agriculture. Farm Credit East serves Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York and Rhode Island.
The full Farm Credit East Board includes 12 stockholder-elected directors and three appointed directors who bring additional skills and capabilities to the boardroom. In addition to those elected to leadership and executive committee positions, the board also includes Robert R. Brown II, Waterport, N.Y.; Samuel G. Conard, Hillsborough, N.J.; Christine Fesko, Skaneateles, N.Y.; Benjamin J. Freund, East Canaan, Conn.; Laurie K. Griffen, Schuylerville, N.Y.; June Hoeflich, Williamsville, N.Y.; Ann P.
